Monson is said to have impressed a woman who had come from abroad by teaching her how to drape sari.

Kochi: Monson Mavunkal is alleged to have lured women into his trap by gifting them cosmetic products. He is said to have called himself a ‘cosmetologist’ and given cosmetic products as part of the treatment. The products were expensive brands imported from abroad.

Many of those who used these products are said to have found good results. This led to a hike in the number of his customers.

The master of sari draping

Monson is said to have impressed a woman who had come from abroad by teaching her how to drape sari. He is said to have instructed her to wear sari for special occasions and even taught her how to drape sari.

Crime branch closing in on Monson

Kochi: Monson Mavunkal was taken to his house in Kaloor for collecting evidence. Crime branch chief ADGP S Sreejith arrived in Kochi and evaluated the investigation progress.

Crime Branch collected the agreement signed on stamp paper for collecting Rs 4 crores from one of the complainants Yakoob Purayil. The crime branch said that the ones who worked behind the forgery of documents must be nabbed. Forged document having the seal of HSBC bank and the documents showing the conversion of cash into Indian currency was found in the hands of the accused. He had been using these forged documents to commit fraud.

The bank officials confirmed that the documents used by Monson are fake.

Four cases have been filed against him including misuse of the name of ‘Samskara TV’.

Monson’s former driver Aji Nettoor, Santhosh who was a mediator in the antique business, and one of the complainants Anoop Mohammed were summoned by the crime branch for recording their statements.

Monson’s voice sample was also recorded by the Crime Branch by taking him to Chithranjali studio in Kakkanad.

The Crime Branch has also initiated a probe to learn the source of the crores of money that the complainants claim to have lost.
