Money collected for CMDRF transferred to party fund: MLA Anil Akkara
Thrissur: Congress MLA Anil Akkara alleged that CPM has transferred the money collected for the Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund (CMDRF) to their party fund. He said that he has given a complaint to the chief minister along with evidences on the issue.
MLA alleged that the local committee has taken Rs 5 or 6 crore out of Rs 32 crore which CPM collected from the state for CMDRF. Only the remaining amount was transferred to the CM's relief fund. MLA supported his claims by taking the instance of financial fraud committed by Adat local committee in Thrissur. At the same time, CPM has rejected his claims.
The statistics show that the Adat local committee has collected Rs 2,20,100. This amount was transferred to the relief fund. It is alleged that the local secretary has transferred a share from the fund that was collected from 23 branches under the local committee.
It is estimated that Ambalamkavu west branch committee has collected Rs 11,800. But, Anil Akkara said that the flex board which the local secretary kept in his region had shown Rs 9000 as the collected fund.
He criticised that the CPM hesitates to reveal the data regarding the relief fund to hide its financial irregulaties behind the fund collection. Meanwhile, CPM district committee responded that they never had the habit of stealing money and it was the nature of Anil Akkara's party.
