Mohanan criticises Muslim League for ousting party leader over human chain
Kozhikode: CPM district secretary P Mohanan has come out against the ouster of a Muslim League leader from the party for taking part in the human chain organised by the LDF in connection with the Citizenship Amendment Act. "These action only show the differences that exists within the League and UDF," he added.
The League had only supported the joint protests. Even senior leaders like Kunhalikutty had endorsed these kind of protests but persons like K P A Majeed is still objecting to it. Hence this leads to dissimilarities, Mohanan said.
If action has to be taken against League leaders for taking part in the human chain then it could not be limited to just K M Basheer. Many League activists had participated in the human chain. When the whole system of governance was on the verge of being sabotaged, all the people came forward to protest. Many forgot their political affiliations and came forward. The League is unable to stand united even for this cause, Mohanan said.
The CPM and the Left Front are not looking at this politically. If the nation has to move ahead like this, then the people have realised that protests are the only way. The people are aware of the Left’s strategy and that is why they stood behind this, he said.
