Mohan Bhagwat flag hoisting row: Sangh Parivar invites President's attention
Kottakkal: The Sangh Parivar national leadership has decided to seek the attention of the President in the issue of the RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat hoisting the flag on Independence Day at a government-aided school in Palakkad.
It has been decided to take up the issue on a political and legal basis as the state government decided to take action against him.
When the row erupted, the BJP Palakkad district president E Krishnadas had written a letter to the President, Vice President, Prime Minister and Union Home Minister. It was mentioned in the letter that the action against Bhagwat is against civil rights and nationality.
It is also said in the letter that the issue should be probed by agencies like NIA.
The state leaders had discussed with the RSS Akhil Bharatiya Sah Bouddhik Pramukh, J Nandakumar and on detailed study it was marked that there was nothing legally wrong in the incident.
They are of the opinion that there are no clear cut rules relating to hoisting the flag in schools and similar incidents have taken place in other schools.
