Palakkad: At a time when Thiruvananthapuram college students’ sweet revenge to moral policing is making headlines, Palakkad district has witnessed a similar attack on school students.

The students of Government Higher Secondary School in Karimba, near Mannarkkad here, on Saturday were attacked by a group of people. Reportedly, the boys and girls were thrashed for sitting in the bus stop and walking in the premises together.

According to police, around 40 individuals gathered and among them, 12 people led the attack. The officials have arrested two so far. They have been identified as Siddique and Jaleel, who are from Karimba itself.

Meanwhile, the students alleged that the many used to verbally harass them, but police were not proactive in intervening to curb moral policing despite registering complaints. The students also claimed that they had raised the moral policing issue with teachers as well.
