MN Karassery hits out at P Mohanan's Maoist remarks
Kozhikode: Writer and social critic M N Karassery has come down heavily on CPM, saying that those who could not even identify between Maoists and terrorist sympathisers from within their group have no credibility to lead the party.
He said it is only natural that CPM labels any one that they don’t like as a Maoist or a terrorist. MN Karassery was responding to the statement made by CPM district secretary P Mohanan. Mohanan had claimed that the Maoists in the state were supported by Islamic terrorist organisations.
Karassery pointed out Abhimanyu’s murder saying it was a case where SDPI link was obvious but the culprits of the case are yet to be caught despite having cctv evidences. Such cases point to the fact that CPM arrests and releases people depending on their interest. P Mohanan master’s statement was dangerous as it would polarise the society, he said.
MN Karassery also said that CPM charges UAPA even against people who read and keep in possession Maoist pamphlets. This is against the CPM politburo decision. It is not clear if the police is carrying out the policy of the party or the other way around.
