Idukki: The tyre of the official vehicle in which MLA MM Mani was travelling got detached near the Kambammettu checkpost. The rear left tyre of the vehicle came off and the car travelled 30 metres without it. Even though the MLA was present in the car, nobody got injured.
The incident occurred at around 11 am on Tuesday. This is the fourth such accident where the tyre of the MLA’s vehicle came off.
Mani was in town to attend a programme at a cooperative organisation in Kambammettu. A major accident was avoided as the car was going slowly and there were no other vehicles on the road.
The vehicle was serviced recently and the tyres were removed for inspection at the time. A mistake while reattaching them might be the reason for the incident. Special branch has started an investigation in the matter.
