Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan and MM Mani
Thiruvananthapuram: “M M Mani’s tongue is his worst enemy,” said Congress leader Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan responding to CPM leader's allegations.
Responding to the allegation, Thiruvanchoor said there is no big difference in their complexion but MM Mani is a bit darker. "I will not stoop down to cast any kind of allegations." Earlier, even the Supreme Court had upheld the then government's stand. Ten years later, there is nothing to say about the court order.
“None of us took the case and put it on MM Mani's head. He only created it. He likes to insult people whom he dislikes. The public will understand the truth as MM Mani is on the other end,” he added.
Ancheri Baby, a Congress activist, was killed in 1982. The court had acquitted three in the case, including the former minister and CPM leader MM Mani. Later in 1988, the court acquitted all nine accused in the case.
But at a public meeting held in Manakkad on May 25, 2012, MM Mani mentioned the murders and counted them as ‘one, two, three’. Following the controversy over the speech, MM Mani was made the second accused and a new charge sheet was filed. Thiruvanchoor was the Home Minister during the then UDF rule.
After his acquittal, MM Mani publicly said that Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan was a traitor. He had also mentioned Thiruvanchoor's colour, creating political hatred against him.
