Thiruvananthapuram: MLA Shafi Parambil raised a sharp criticism against the state government for issuing an order to settle the travel and accommodation bill of lawyers who appeared for the government in the controversial Periya double murder case. The lawyers had moved an appeal in the Supreme Court against the high court order for CBI probe into the double murder case.

The government’s action comes under criticism in the background of coronavirus outbreak and government's salary cut announcement to overcome the financial crisis.

The lawyers appeared for the government to argue against CBI probe into Periya double murder case which was allegedly committed by CPM activists.

MLA Shafi Parambil took to his Facebook page and slammed the government’s action by sharing a copy of the order approving the bill.

The bills of business class journey and hotel accommodation were cleared through the order. At the same time, the MLA pointed out that the government did not mention the money sanctioned.
