PSC Chairman MK Sakeer
Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala Public Service Commission (PSC) works only in line with the rules, said MK Sakeer, PSC Chairman here on Wed
“Nobody can change the way PSC has been functioning. Candidates should not seek the opportunity of others,” said Sakeer.
“The rank lists of all uniformed-forces and police have a validity of one year. It cannot be extended for three years. PSC has mentioned the age limit and physical fitness required for these posts. Those who qualify will be eligible for the jobs. This recruitment of police force follows this rule and the validity of rank list is just one year. In the absence of a new rank list, one cannot extend the existing list,” added the Chairman.
The validity of the rank lists of the general category, including teachers and LD clerk and non-uniformed general category is one year. The rank lists of these posts can be extended for a period of three years if there is no new list. The 1+2 scheme allows the extension of rank lists. However, PSC can go ahead with new lists after one year of the existing list. Without going for a new list, PSC has been giving the advantage of this scheme to candidates for many years now. As per the rule, extending these rank lists after three years is not possible.
Even during the Covid-19 pandemic, PSC worked in full strength and vacancies were reported on time, said Sakeer.
