Thiruvananthapuram: KT Jaleel MLA criticized the United Democratic Front (UDF), the media, and RS Sasikumar for their actions against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan over allegations of maladministration and nepotism in managing the CM's Distress Relief Fund.

In a Facebook post, Jaleel clarified that the amounts granted from CMDRF were based solely on eligibility and not political allegiance. He cited an example of Muslim League leader and former MLA Kalathil Abdulla, who received Rs. 20 lakh for medical expenses during the first Pinarayi government's term.

Jaleel also accused the UDF government of misappropriating Tsunami funds and criticized the media and petitioners for not raising their voice then. He pointed out that residents of Puthuppally in Kottayam, who didn't even have a nearby river, received crores in grants from the Tsunami fund.

Jaleel further highlighted the case of Dr. MK Muneer, son of late CH Mohammed Koya Sahib, who discontinued his studies from a private medical college in Bengaluru and received public funds to continue his studies at Kozhikode Government Medical College. The public treasury also provided pocket money for him and a pension for CH's wife. All these will continue in the future too.Jaleel taunted the Opposition to address similar issues that emerged when the current government offered grants to the families of Ramachandran Nair and Uzhavoor Vijayan.
