Ila Divakar
Thiruvananthapuram: The body of a secretariat staff who went missing two days ago has been found from Vamanapuram river here. The deceased is identified as Chirayinkeezhu Valiyakada native Ila Divakar (42), who is under secretary in the records section in the secretariat. The police assume the case to be a suicide. The body was found after two days long search operation in the river.
Ila Divakar had been missing since Friday at 6 am. Her scooter was found to have abandoned near Ayanthikadavu. Following this, searching started in Vamanapuram river. A team of 10 personnel of the scuba team from Attingal Fire Force and five from Thiruvananthapuram conducted the search operation. The heavy current and slushy river base caused difficulty to searching. Local swimmers continued searching even at night.
Ila was promoted as under secretary only recently. The police found that she had attempted to commit suicide earlier also. She was heartbroken after her husband Laiju died five years ago and since then she showed suicidal tendencies, the police said. She is survived by daughters Bhavya, KSEB sub-engineer in Palachira and Adeena, a plus two student.
