Kozhikode: Following a comprehensive probe, Chevayur police found the youth who went missing from Vengeri five years back. The police has been conducting a search for him based on a complaint lodged by his sister.

The 38-year-old Malikkadavu native was found from Kallayi. Police informed that he has been residing near a lodge in Kallayi.

A python was caught from a bakery in Kallayi last week. When the visuals of this were circulated on social media, Chevayur Sub Inspector Sreejayan spotted the missing person in the visuals and sent a picture of him to an acquaintance in Kallayi.

After taking him under custody, he was produced at the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court here.

When a youth’s burnt body was found at Parambil Bazar five years back, police had probed to find any connection between this case and the missing complaint. However, they were unable to get any clue. Police also were not able to find the missing person for five years though he had been living in the same city.
