Agali: Rekha, the daughter of watcher Rajan who went missing at Sairandhri in Silent Valley, got married on Sunday.

Rajan, a watcher under Kerala Forests Department at Silent Valley, went missing on May 3. Rekha’s wait for 37 days turned hopeless as her father didn’t return to attend her wedding. Her father’s brother Suresh Babu gave away her hand in marriage to the groom, Mannarkkad native Nikhil.

Rekha’s uncle Suresh Babu took care of all the matters concerning the wedding. The wedding was held in a very minimal manner. Locals and the officials of the forest department in Mukkali took up the responsibility of the wedding.

Rajan went missing while returning to his place of stay after having food with his colleagues. They came to know that he was missing only the next day. Although forest officials and police held search operations inside and outside the forests, no clue or evidence of Rajan’s presence was found.
