Former Miss Kerala mishap: Remand report demands probe into suspected drug deals, videos of models

Kochi: The remand report related to the probe into the accident which claimed three lives including former Miss Kerala and runner-up hinted drug deals at the hotel in Fort Kochi. In the remand report, the probe team observed the possibility of drug deals at ‘No: 18’ hotel in Fort Kochi and proposed a detailed probe into the same. The report also added that if any private videos of the models were captured, it should be investigated.

Mathrubhumi News received a copy of the remand report submitted in the court.

The police claimed that over 50 people gathered at the hotel on the day of the mishap. They violated Covid protocols and conducted liquor party in the late hours. The digital video recorder was destroyed in order to hide the secret deals in the hotel, revealed the report.

The police already received information that Roy, the owner of the hotel and others had tried to get acquainted with the models.

The visuals of these people might have been recorded in the CCTV following which they tried to hide the footage, it is suspected. A hotel employee named Melvin contacted other hotel staff via a video call to tell them how to dismantle the hard disk from the device and they threw the original hard disk in the backwaters, the report stated.
