Thiruvananthapuram: Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan has reportedly berated chief secretary VP Joy for visiting the Governor minutes before the latter's scheduled press conference against the Kerala government.

CM told Joy he should not have visited the Governor at such a moment.

The visit was widely viewed as the government's attempt to pacify Governor Arif Mohammad Khan. However, Joy later said that he went to invite the Governor to the marriage of his daughter.

Though the official told CM that the meeting was scheduled days ago, CM said the officer should have been cautious.

The Governor met the media persons at 11.45 AM on Monday. CS met him at the Raj Bhavan at 11.00 AM. CM immediately phoned the officer to convey his displeasure on the matter.
