Accused Krishnan
Kannur: Police arrested a 53-year-old man in a case relating to the delivery of a Plus Two student at the lavatory of Iritty taluk hospital in Kannur.
Provisions under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act were charged against the accused Krishnan, who is a Malapattam native. Police informed that the accused raped the 17-year-old girl exploiting his amicable relationship with her family.
The girl was hospitalised on Sunday morning following stomach pain. She delivered a baby boy from the lavatory here. The mother and child were shifted to the Kannur district hospital due to their poor health condition.
