Thiruvananthapuram: Ministers in the state will visit various foreign countries to collect donations from expatriates for reviving flood-hit Kerala. The decision was taken by the cabinet.
However, the cabinet meeting on Thursday has not listed the countries and scheduled plan for the ministers. The team of ministers will also visit other states to raise fund.
Meanwhile, a team lead by IAS officers will collect donations based on districts on September 3 and 5. A list of VIPs in each district will be prepared by the departmental heads to collect donations from.
Govt. secretaries are in charge of collecting fund from districts including the flood hit ones. On September 3, secretaries in charge of each district will hold discussion with district collector and departmental heads on fund collection.
On September 5, ministers who are in charge of districts will convene a meeting with departmental heads and secretaries in order to prepare a detailed plan of the fund collection.
Donations will be also collected from school students in public schools as well as unaided schools.
