Dr Vandana Das, Minister Veena George with Vandana's parents
Kottayam: Minister of Health, Veena George, visited the residence of Dr. Vandana Das to offer her condolences. The visit was impromptu and took place in Muttuchira, Kottayam. After consoling Vandana's parents, the minister left the residence. During the conversation with Vandana's parents, the minister was moved to tears. She declined to comment on the matter when approached by the media.
The funeral rituals will be conducted at 2 pm on Thursday on the premises of the residence. The mortal remains were brought home at 8 pm on Wednesday after being kept at Azeezia Medical college, where she studied.
In anticipation of a potential rush, police implemented traffic regulations in Kaduthuruthy from 5 am to 2 pm on Thursday. The area has been provided with heavy security due to a special branch report that warned of potential attacks on visiting ministers. Additional police personnel have been deployed and barricades have been installed in the region.

Dr Vandana Das was brutally killed by drug addict Sandeep at Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital on Wednesday morning. He was accompanied by a few police officers and they were also attacked by him. Dr Vandana Das is the only daughter of abkari contractor KG Mohandas and Vasanthakumari.
