Alappuzha: Minister Saji Cheriyan alleged that people from terrorist outfits are engaged in anti-SilverLine protests in the state. The minister said that attempts to consciously create a mutiny have been happening in many locations, including Chengannur, and warned those who dare to uproot the survey stones of stringent action.

Skirmishes are being created with the help of terrorist groups here. Some of the protestors are spreading false information that one kilometre of both sides of the rail will be buffer zones, the minister said. By denouncing such allegations, Saji Cheriyan accused the opposition of flaring up the protests.

Minister asserted that the government can acknowledge the instinctive emotional bursts of the people who will lose their land. Hence, the police have been dealing with the issue cautiously, he said.

Saji Cheriyan accused Congress workers of attempting to pour kerosene over 'poor women and children' as part of the protest. He also challenged the opposition to come forward with any visuals of police personnel attacking the protestors.

Minister accused that the clashes are being created intentionally to hinder the developmental projects of the state. The LDF government had upheld its promise in many projects, including the National Highway expansion, and the same will happen in the case of the SilverLine project too, said the minister.
