Alappuzha: Minister Saji Cherian came down heavily on government officials at an event in Alappuzha. He wondered how certain officers end up collecting bribes, despite the government paying them good salaries.
The minister said that the petty acts of a few government officials overshadow the dedicated efforts of the rest of them.

“Some government officials are ready to stoop to any level to fill their pockets,” the minister said, referring to the officer who was caught in a bribery case in Palakkad.
“I have never heard about an officer who accepted bribes like the way Suresh Kumar did,” the minister exclaimed.
The minister reminded the gathering that only honest and hardworking people emerge successful in life.
