Minister’s take on the viral wink: “Anybody can do it; just need practice”
Thiruvananthapuram: Minister G Sudhakaran has made an interesting reference to the viral video of a song from movie ‘Oru Adaar Love’ while replying to a query on job security of IT employees in the state assembly.
The Minister, who is also a poet, said in the Assembly on Friday that the famous wink of the actress in the song is an evolving form of the ‘notta’ (glance) technology, “which means the way people look at each other is changing.”
His comments came after P T Thomas MLA requested sanction to table a private members bill, seeking formation of a welfare fund for employees in the IT sector.
Sudharkaran said a young woman winking at a young man is the biggest thing is the world now. “We can all wink like this. But need some practice,” he said.
It is when Thomas said that the advent of technology may render several people jobless, Sudhakaran referred to the ‘notta technology’ which is growing through a wink.
Opposing the bill, the Minister said a centralised system for job security in the IT sector is not feasible since foreign and native companies are equally involved in the industry here.
