
Kozhikode: PWD minister P A Mohammed Riyas said that the coastal and hill highways in the state will be completed without causing much harm to nature. The minister said this while attending a reception at Mathrubhumi head office here.
The development of these highways can be linked with tourism. Special package and interventions will be made for the development of tourism sector in Wayanad. All works in PWD will be conducted following the green protocol, the minister added.
Mathrubhumi Managing Director MV Shreyams Kumar welcomed the minister who arrived at the office on World Environment Day. Shreyams Kumar said that he will give all support for road development without harming nature. He also suggested that Wayanad tourism circuit can be implemented to attract foreign tourists.
The minister said that a decision in this regard will be taken after a detailed discussion. The Mission Medical College report prepared by Mathrubhumi for the development of Kozhikode medical college was handed over to the minister.
