Minister refrains from replying on KSRTC salary row, says no question tabled

Antony Raju

Thiruvananthapuram: Minister for Road Transport Antony Raju refrained from answering the delay in disbursing salaries to KSRTC employees at the legislative assembly on Friday.

The minister said that the question posed by the opposition was only regarding SWIFT and the salaries are being dispensed on time. When questions over salary distribution in KSRTC were raised repeatedly, the minister avoided it claiming KSRTC and SWIFT are two different entities.

M Vincent MLA had put forward the question over salary disbursal issue at the assembly. Vincent accused that the salaries of employees were withheld even after the corporation obtained revenue of over Rs 200 crore monthly. Though the Chief Minister had assured to give away the salaries before fifth of every month, the promise was kept only for a month, said Vincent.

However, Minister Antony Raju asserted that he has to give clarity only to SWIFT services as per the question. He urged the Opposition to submit a separate question over KSRTC salary to receive a reply.
