Minister Moideen casts vote at 6.56 am; stirs controversy

Thrissur: Minister for Self-Governments, AC Moideen has stirred a controversy by casting his vote ahead of the official commencement of the polling in the second phase of LSG polls in the state. Congress MLA Anil Akkara has raised a complaint over the matter calling it violation of norms and said that he will approach the Election Commission in this regard.

The official polling is between 7 am and 6 pm. The minister has cast his vote at 6.56 am which is a violation of the rules, Anil Akkara complained.

Moideen cast his vote at the Kallambara booth in Thekkumthara here. The UDF polling agent has filed a complaint with the polling officer.

However, the minister’s office responded that Moideen cast his vote after being invited by the presiding officer and an explanation should be furnished by them.
