Thiruvananthapuram: Reacting to the jibe of CM Pinarayi Vijayan, minister for external affairs S Jaishankar said the members of the Narendra Modi ministry work as a team.
We, as a team, discuss matters regarding Covid, education, railway etc. We call it development while some others call it politics. People who see matters above politics will understand it, said Jaishankar.
He was reacting to the media during 'Meet The Press' event here.
Earlier, the chief minister had mocked Jaishankar by saying "the minister who is very busy in watching the developments across the world is here to see the flyover in Kazhakuttam," hinting that the visit of the minister to Thiruvananthapuram was politically motivated.
BJP had earlier decided to focus on South India in the upcoming general elections. It is speculated that the union minister's visit is part of the party strategy.
Union minister for state from Kerala, V Muraleedharan, also slammed Pinarayi for his statement on Jaishankar. "The minister for external affairs does not live abroad. Ministers in the Modi government go to the people to understand their feelings," he said.
