Thiruvananthapuram: Antony Raju, Minister for Transport, informed that the validity of the driving license, vehicle registration, fitness, permit and other certificates have been extended for a month by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.

The validity has been extended for certificates as per the Motor Vehicle Act 1988 and Central Motor Vehicles Rules 1989. The minister said that vehicle owners must renew their certificates and other related documents within this period.

The renewal period that had been extended before this due to the Covid condition came to an end on September 30. A letter had been given to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari requesting extension due to the prevailing Covid condition and the inability to take vehicles out due to the expiry of the fitness certificate.
