Kozhikode: In the wake of lockdown, Malabar Milma is gearing up for online delivery of milk from Friday. Milk delivery via dealers started on Thursday. Milma has also decided to procure milk from all dairy farmers from Friday.

Milma authorities confirmed that online food delivery apps Swiggy and Potafo will also deliver milk to households from Friday.

Ultra-high temperature (UHT) processing milk which can be stored for up to 90 days without cooling will be delivered. This is processed at high temperatures and packed efficiently so as to remain fresh for three months. However, if the packet is opened it should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within two days like normal milk.

The Chief Minister had said the other day that milk and milk products will be sold through Consumerfed and the excess will be delivered to small children and pregnant women through anganwadis and to migrant workers’ camps.
