Ponnani: The Kerala government will launch the scheme to distribute milk and eggs for children in anganwadis on Monday. Milk will be given on Monday and Thursday while eggs will be delivered on Tuesday and Friday.

Milk and eggs will be served along with breakfast in anganwadis. The authorities have been instructed to boil the eggs and feed children from anganwadis instead of packing to home.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the scheme on Monday and food will be served after this. However, the procedures for tender to purchase milk and eggs have not yet been completed in many regions. Hence, the government has carried out arrangements to temporarily procure milk and eggs regionally in such locations. A maximum of Rs 50 and Rs 6 have been estimated to buy milk and eggs, respectively.
