Migrant labourer stabs woman, son in Alappuzha

Sathar

Edathua: A West Bengal native who reached a house in Alappuzha requesting drinking water stabbed the residents of the house. The injured are Vincy (50) and her son Anvin (25) at Vincy cottage in Karuka. Police arrested the accused Sathar following the incident.

The shocking incident happened on Wednesday around 6 pm at Vincy’s house. Sathar reached the house for drinking water and unleashed a clamor in front of the house. Meanwhile, the panicked residents got into the house and closed the front door. Though Sathar attempted to break the door, he could not succeed and then attacked the dog which was chained in the yard.

After seeing Sathar choking the dog with a rope, Vincy and Anvin rushed outside the house to save it. It was then Sathar stabbed both of them with a knife he had carried. Anvin was stabbed on his chest while Vincy got injured on her hand.

The locals who reached the spot after hearing the screams caught Sathar and informed the police. Anvin and Vincy are admitted to Taluk hospital in Haripad.

The locals assumed that Sathar might have flipped out by consuming drugs.
