Kochi: The body of the person who went missing after falling into a waste pit at a plywood factory in Odakkali, Ernakulam was recovered on Friday morning. The deceased has been identified as Nazeer Hussain, 22, from Murshidabad in West Bengal.

The incident happened on Thursday around 7 am when Nazeer was attempting to control the smoke rising from a deep garbage pit using a hose. He was a staff at the plywood factory.

Though a team of fire and safety officials, police and locals searched for Nazeer till late night on Thursday, they failed to find him.
