Perumbavoor: A migrant labourer named Nazeer (23) from Kolkata accidentally fell into a pit that was being used to burn waste in Odakkali, Ernakulam on Thursday morning.

The local police and fire and rescue officials are currently carrying out rescue efforts. The incident occurred after a pile of waste was set on fire at a plywood company in Odakkali, where the staff typically disposes of garbage by burning it in the pit.

Nazeer fell into a 15-foot-deep pit while trying to control the smoke from the garbage using a hose.
