Thiruvananthapuram: Rice kept to prepare lunch for students under the mid-day meal programme will be sent to the house of the students.
The move comes after holidays were declared for classes up to standard 7 due to COVID-19 scare. Rice kept for mid-day meal in these schools will be sent to the homes of the students.
Schools which have not taken the March quota of rice have to accept the same first before distributing it to the students. The remaining stock and new stock of rice must be combined before distribution.
Each school has to equally distribute the rice to students, said the Public Education Director.
