Metro extended to Maharajas; CM to flag off first run
Kochi: Metro train service will be extended to Maharajas college ground from Tuesday onwards. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will flag off the first train at 10.30 am at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in the presence of union minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Chief Minister and team will travel by metro from stadium to Maharajas college ground. The inauguration will be held at 11 at Ernakulam Town Hall.
The service will commence when the chief minister declares the inauguration of metro. From 12 in the noon, the service will be normal, informed KMRL (Kochi Metro Rail Ltd.) officials. From Wednesday onwards, metro service will be available from 6 am to 10 pm. Ticket fare from Aluva to Maharajas college ground is Rs 50.
All the people’s representatives in the metro route will be present at the function. Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala, Mayor Soumini Jain, Prof. K. V. Thomas MP, DMRC chief advisor Dr. E. Sreedharan, KMRL managing director Alias George will address the gathering.
