Kozhikode: A student at the Meppadi polytechnic college in Wayanad was attacked on Monday night. Perambra native Abhinav was attacked at around 8:15 pm. He suffered head and arm injuries and was taken to the Kozhikode Medical College for treatment.

Abhinav alleged that an eight-member gang, who claimed to be SFI activists, attacked him. Abhinav also said that he was attacked with weapons including a plank with nails on it. He claimed that the attackers had come to his house and threatened him a couple of days ago.

Meanwhile, bikes of two KSU activists who were remanded after the Meppadi scuffle were found burnt.

On Friday, police officials and SFI activist Aparna Gauri were injured in a fight during the union election at the Meppadi polytechnic college.
