Sabarimala Mandala Pooja to take place today

Sabarimala: The sacred ‘Mandala Pooja’ in Sabarimala temple will take place on Sunday. This concludes the 41-day long Sabarimala ‘Mandalam' pilgrimage season.

The procession carrying ‘Thanka Anki’ was welcomed by Devaswom Minister K Radhakrishnan, Devaswom Board President K Anantha Gopan and board members when it climbed the holy 18 steps the other day.

'Mandala Puja' will be held on December 26 between 11.50 pm and 1.15 pm. Then the temple will be closed. The shrine will open again at 4 pm. Deeparadhana will take place at 6.30 pm followed by Padipooja.

After the evening rituals, the temple will be closed at 10 pm after Harivarasanam. Later, it will be opened on December 30 evening for the ‘Makaravilakku’.
