Thiruvananthapuram: The meeting convened by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday to resolve the tussles between KSRTC management and employees over the rescue package turned successful. The CM also assured that full salary will be paid by Tuesday and the salaries for the coming months will be paid within the 5th of every month.

Salary for two months was stalled when the financial aid from the government did not come. For a temporary relief, the government transferred Rs 50 crore the other day to the management for salary distribution. Though matters like the inclusion of 12 hours of single duty were discussed during the meeting, the opposition unions did not agree to this stand.

The government has to find Rs 78 crore to pay the pending salaries of employees. The meeting was convened after the government had to hear a lot of criticism from the court for not distributing salaries when Onam is just around the corner.
