Alappuzha: A bike accident at Alappuzha bypass claimed the life of a 21-year-old medical student on Sunday morning. The deceased was identified as Fousiya Hakkim, daughter of Thrikkunnapuzha native Hakkim and Nasrath.

The accident happened on Sunday around 4.30 am. Fousiya met with the accident when she was heading to Thrikkunnapuzha with her friend from Alappuzha railway station. She died on spot and her friend, who sustained severe injuries, was admiited to a hospital.

Fousiya was a second year Forensic Science student at Yenapoya Medical College in Mangaluru.
