New Delhi: The Union Government on Friday approached the Supreme court seeking revocation of the order issued by Kerala High Court permitting self-financing managements to conduct counselling on their own.
It wanted common counselling for admission to self-financing colleges.
In their plea, the Centre also argued that the special counselling is a violation of existing rules.
Be it merit set or management seat, the government should conduct the counselling, it contended.
However, the managements argued that the Kerala Government should have approached the SC if they are discontented with the HC order.
After hearing both parties, the court informed that a decision would be taken on Monday.
When it was cited that the time limit for completing admission process after the counselling ends of 30th of this month, the court said the last date can be extended, if needed.
