Thiruvananthapuram: The personal assistant of Mayor Arya Rajendran returned to the parent department without renewing the deputation period spanning a year. The personal assistant is an officer of gazetted rank. It has been reported that difference of opinion with the mayor urged the PA to return to his parent department.

Mayor had also demanded to shift her PA pointing out that he went for an excursion when the opposition staged a protest in front of the corporation headquarters alleging scam in taxation. However, the government did not consider the request of the mayor. The leftist union in which the mayor’s PA was a member also stood against the mayor in the issue. All these dissents between the mayor and PA might have ended up in the resignation of the personal staff.
