Mattannur municipal poll: LDF wins 21 seats in 35 wards, UDF grabs 14 seats

Kannur: The results of municipal election held in Mattannur are out and LDF has retained its forte by winning 21 seats out of 35 wards.

The LDF administration has been ruling the municipality since 25 years. But, interestingly, UDF was able to win 14 seats despite LDF’s strong base in majority of wards.

The UDF has also improved its tally and was able to double the winning seats held in the earlier times.

The municipality had witnessed high-voltage election campaigns from both the fronts and the results also reflects the same vigour.
