New Delhi: Mathrubhumi.com’s Nileena Atholi and Ramya Harikumar received the Press Council of India Excellence in Journalism awards 2020. PCI president Justice (Rtd) Ranjana Prakash handed over the awards on Tuesday.

Nileena’s series of reports published on Mathrubhumi daily from July 12-17, 2019, about marital rapes in Kerala won the prize in the gender issues category.

Ramya’s report on child abuse and rehabilitation published on Mathrubhumi daily on June 27, 2019, bagged the award in the developmental reporting category.
