New Delhi: In a remarkable achievement, three journalists of Mathrubhumi bagged the Ramnath Goenka Award for excellence in journalism, instituted by the Ramnath Goenka Foundation, for an investigative series on children’s safety in the virtual world during the lockdown.

The winners are Shabitha (sub editor, Mathrubhumi Online), Sreelakshmi Menon (content writer, Mathrubhumi Online) and Rose Maria Vincent (sub editor, Grihalakshmi).

The eight-episode series titled ‘Kannadaikkanavilla, Pidimurukki Kazhinju Bala Peedakar’ was published on mathrubhumi.com from December 12 - 31, 2020.

The award comprising a purse of Rs 1 lakh and a plaque was presented by CJI DY Chandrachud on Wednesday at a ceremony in New Delhi.
