Thiruvananthapuram: All India Students Federation (AISF), the students’ wing of Communist Party of India (CPI), has decided to launch an agitation to protest the fee hike in in self-financing medical educational institutions.
The AISF state committee has decided to conduct agitation programmes, including a Secretariat march, to protest the steep hike in PG medical course fees.
The state committee evaluated that the hike in fees is contrary to LDF's policy.
The LDF policy was to retain the fee structure in merit seats. However, this has been violated. The fee hike will lead to exploitation in self-financing sector. No talks were conducted before arriving at a decision to increase the fees. The government should have conducted talks with students’ organizations before taking a decision in this regard, the state committee said.
