Kochi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has initiated information gathering in the wake of Rs 1,200 crore worth heroin seizure off Kochi coast.
According to reports, NIA collected information regarding the drug seizure from Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), which in a combined operation with the Indian Navy apprehended a suspicious vessel in Kerala's Kochi carrying more than 200 kgs of narcotics.

It is learnt that NIA officials quizzed the six Iranian crew members who were nabbed from the vessel.
Reports said that the consignment was supplied by Pakistan-based Hadi Salim network, which supplies heroin, charas, Methamphetamine to India and the countries in the Indian ocean.
NIA intervened in the case after confirming international links in the drug smuggling.
