Indian Navy seizes drugs worth Rs 200 cr in Kochi, two foreigners in custody

Kochi: In a major drug bust, the Indian Navy took two people into custody here on Thursday for possessing psychoactive drugs worth Rs 200 cr.

The Iran and Pakistan nationals were later handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau.

The Navy seized the boat carrying the drugs during an inspection here on Thursday. According to reports, the two foreigners who possessed the drugs had no identity cards or licences.

During the search, the Navy team recovered heroin from the boat. Following this, the boat was taken to Mattancherry.

The two accused are being quizzed.
