Pathanamthitta: Kerala revenue minister K Rajan has informed that the department is looking into the accusation that Kanni taluk officials took mass leave on Friday. “The matter will be probed and if lapses are identified, then stringent action will be taken,” he said.
His remarks come at a time when reports say 39 out of 63 staffers were on leave. Apparently, 17 of them went for the Munnar excursion after officially submitting the leave request. While 22 of them reportedly took leave without complying with formalities.
Meanwhile, the mass leaves affected the operations, pointed out reports. KU Jenish Kumar visited the office and scrutinised attendance in the wake of complaints. It also came to light that some of the officials who signed in the attendance register were not present at the office.
MLA intimated the matter to the revenue minister. The development comes in this context. The minister has directed the collector to probe the matter and submit the report within five days, added reports.
