Masked man attacks security guard of petrol pump in Kozhikode, loots Rs 50,000


Kozhikode: A man in mask attacked a security guard of a petrol pump at Kottooli here and looted Rs 50,000. According to reports, the robber ransacked the pump after tying up the security guard.

CCTV visuals recovered from the petrol pump revealed the attack on the security guard. The incident took place in the wee hours on Thursday.

When the security guard was patrolling near the petrol pump, the robber threw chilli powder at him. He later attacked the security guard.

It is reported that the security guard had around Rs 1 lakh in his custody. But the robber didn’t steal it. Police have initiated an investigation after examining the CCTV visuals.

Rs 1,30,000 robbed from Kochi petrol pump

Meanwhile, a similar kind of robbery was reported in Kochi also. Rambha Fuels, at Cherai was robbed around 3 am on Thursday. It is learnt that the robbers fled the scene after taking Rs 1,30,000 and a mobile phone.

The petrol pump is owned by a native of Kombara in Ernakulam. It is learnt that the burglars looted the petrol pump after breaking the front door.

Munambam police registered a case and initiated a probe. Police also collected CCTV visuals from the crime scene.
