Mark moderation row: More evidences surface against minister Jaleel
Thiruvananthapuram: In connection with the mark moderation row in the MG University, more evidences have come out against Minister for Higher Education K T Jaleel for violation of rules of the university. An order that states that the minister will take part in the adalat and decide on the files has come to light. Also a special order was issued demanding to see the files of the adalat.
The order issued on February 4 regarding the conduct of adalats by various universities has surfaced now. The order states that Higher Education Council will conduct adalats in six universities in the state. It contains clear hints regarding the minister’s intervention.
The order directs that the applications for adalat should be settled by the organisational committee and only those files which require minister’s intervention should be submitted at the adalat for his consideration.
Earlier, minister Jaleel satated that he only attended the inaugural session of the adalat and no other intervention was made in the adalat. But the order surfaced now shows that the files not settled by the syndicate were brought to the attention of the minister.
The university rules do not allow such files to be submitted in adalats without permission of the Chancellor. But the rule seems to have been violated as per the evidences received at present.
