Kasaragod: Minister K.T. Jaleel lashed out at Opposition Leader Ramesh Chennithala after he raised allegations of nepotism and corruption against him in connection with awarding moderation marks to a student of M G University. While responding to the allegations, Jaleel indirectly demanded an investigation to Chennithala's son clearing civil service examination.
"In the civil service examination interview, a leader's son scored 30 marks more than Anudeep Shetty, who secured first rank in the written examination. People who are lobbying in Delhi, think that everyone is like them," minister opined without taking the name of Chennithala.
"Candidate who scored lower marks in written examination in Civil Services Examination 2017 received higher marks in the interview. He lobbied in Delhi to get more marks in the interview. The Leader of the Opposition should demand an investigation into this matter. Steps should be taken to maintain transparency of not only PSC, but also for UPSC,’’ minister added.
"The Opposition Leader's allegations are blatant lies. Moderation is not the first time in history. Moderation was given not just to one person but to many. If the Opposition Leader wants to stop the system of moderation, he should be frank enough to say it. Moderation has not been decided in the adalat, but by the syndicate. Also Chennithala has not produced any document signed by the private secretary," minster claimed.
"UDF should not think that they can hinder the success of the Left government in the state," he said in the press conference.
